Resumen
El acto médico define una circunstancia de encuentro e interacción entre dos personas, lo que le imprime una característica multidimensional. Desde esta óptica y teniendo en cuenta la complejidad que esto representa, adquiere particular importancia analizar los elementos que intervienen en la consulta médica, así como el impacto que estos tienen sobre la adherencia al tratamiento por parte de los pacientes. En tal escenario, la relación médico paciente representa un aspecto fundamental cuya repercusión sobre el proceso de atención en salud, tratamiento de la enfermedad y recuperación de la salud ameritan un interés especial con el fin de establecer efectos tales como la adherencia a los tratamientos y el cumplimiento de las terapéuticas en pos del restablecimiento de la salud. A partir de la revisión bibliográfica de evidencias de investigación, nos proponemos explorar los elementos que desde la relación médico paciente en la consulta asistencial, determinan o afectan la adherencia al tratamiento por parte del paciente. Se realizó una búsqueda de artículos en las base de datos, PUBMED, SCIELO, MEDICLATINA, MEDLINE y SCHOLAR ACADEMIC, con las palabras clave: Relación Médico-Paciente, Adherencia al Tratamiento. La evidencia bibliográfica y de referencias de investigación apuntan a que las características de la relación médico - paciente en el proceso de la consulta médica, ejerce una influencia determinante en cuanto a la actitud del paciente frente al tratamiento, su apego a las indicaciones dadas por el médico y el resultado de las prescripciones hechas por parte del profesional.
